ASHKHABAT, 12 January - IP "TURKMENinform". On January 11 Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov received special representative of President of the United Arab Emirates Khalfan Sultan Al-Ketbi. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Hasan Abdullah Al-Adab Al-Zaruuni.
The guest handed over the invitation for the Turkmen leader from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to pay official visit to the country and conveyed greetings from UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Lieutenant-General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, who had expressed their desire to keep on realizing of the entered engagements between Turkmenistan and UAE and consider the perspectives of expanding the interstatal cooperation.
Khalfan Sultan Al-Ketbi congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov on the putting into operation of the world's longest Transasian gas-main transporting system Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China that had taken place in mid-December 2009 in presence of four heads of the Asian states. In his turn, the Turkmen leader expressed his greetings on the recent opening of the tallest building in the world – the Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai.
The parties also discussed the collaboration of UAE company Gulf Oil & Gas in commercial development of the world’s largest gas field Southern Yoloten-Osman in eastern Turkmenistan according to a large 1 billion 150 million US dollars contract negotiated at the end of December, 2009.
The Investment Forum of Turkmenistan to take place at the beginning of this February in Abu Dhabi became another important subject of the conversation. The forum is meant to demonstrate the investment potential of Turkmenistan and further trade and economic relations between the countries.
