WORLD NEWS, 24 November - IP "TURKMENinform". Today President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov started a two-day official visit to Italy. The Turkmen leader has eventful program of visit which includes holding talks with Italian Prime-minister Silvio Berlusconi and other officials and signing of a large package of documents to expand existing bilateral cooperation in various fields.

A Turkmen-Italian business forum with the main focus on energy issues is also expected to be held in Rome during the Turkmen delegation visit.

Italy has been Turkmenistan’s long-standing and reliable business partner since 1992 when the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established. For today 12 Italian capital investment projects are realized in Turkmenistan, and bilateral trade turnover for 2009 makes up $385,12 million.
