Salaries, pensions, welfare payments and scholarship allowance to be raised in Turkmenistan01.12.2009 21:46ASHKHABAT, 1 December - IP "TURKMENinform". Last Friday, November 27, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov signed the Decree on increase of salaries, pensions, welfare payments and scholarship allowance rates in the country.
The increase is to be provided through improving the structure of manufactures, institutions and organizations, raising the effectiveness of producing capacity and working efficiency, and attracting spare domestic reserves.
Control over the decree execution is assigned to vice presidents of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan (Turkmenistan’s government), local authorities of velayats (regions of Turkmenistan) and Ashkhabad city and to Chairman of the Higher Control chamber of Turkmenistan.
According to the Decree, since January 1, 2010:
- the minimum wage of employees of Turkmenistan’s enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership should make not less than 598 manats per month, and the size of a monthly average salary across Turkmenistan for calculation of the size of new established pension is fixed at level 678 manats;
- the minimum size of labour pensions is 121 manats, and the maximum 532 manats;
- pensions to the Great Patriotic war veterans make up from 435 to 580 manats per month.
The new Decree also provides 10 per cent increase of scholarship allowance, welfare benefits and salaries of state-financed and public organizations and self-sustained enterprises. Furthermore, in the Decree’s appendices the rates for calculation of monthly official salaries of heads of state-governing bodies, military and law-enforcement agencies, courts, editorial staff of newspapers and magazines are specified.
