Young virtuosos of classical music10.12.2009 21:56ASHKHABAT, 10 December - IP "TURKMENinform". . Turkmenistan's capital hosted musical contest of young pianists devoted to the 200th annivesary from the date of birth of great Polish composer Frederic Chopin. The contest organised by Ministry of culture and tele-radio broadcasting and Embassy of Poland in Turkmenistan was divided into 2 tours and held among students of Ashkhabad and Ahal velayat's art schools in 2 age groups - 11-13 and 14-16 years of age.
15 young contestants were given an opportunity to take part in master class on the art of rendering Chopin's compositions performed by famous Polish pianist Stanislav Deya who arrived to Ashkhabad to head the contest jury and took part himself in winners award concert.
Ayna Mamedova (children art school #1) took the first place, the second place was shared by Makhbuba Ismailova (children art school #1) and Ogulkeik Khodzhakurbanova (specialized musical boarding school).
