LEBAP VELAYAT, 21 December - IP "TURKMENinform". On December 17-19 Turkmenabat city of Lebap velayat of Turkmenistan hosted Turkmenistan Powerlifting Cup competitions held between sportsmen and sportswomen of Lebap, Mary, Ahal and Dashoguz velayats. The competitions were marked with 7 new national records established during the tournament.

In men team competitions the first place was given to sportsmen of Mary velayat who outpointed combined teams of Lebap and Ahal. In the individual events 5 new national records were set up by:

• Ruslan Ataev, golden and bronze medalist of Asian Championship 2009 - Ahal velayat team, weight category under 125 kg, new national record in dead lift;
• Eldar Gadyrmamedov, bronze medalist of Asian Championship 2009 - Mary velayat team, weight category under 75 kg, new national record in dead lift;
• Timur Sattarov, silver medalist of Asian Championship 2009 - Ahal velayat team, weight category under 90 kg, new national record in bench press;
• Byashim Amanmuradov, bronze medalist of Asian Championship 2009 - Mary velayat team, weight category under 110 kg, new national record in bench press;
• Sh.Garaev - Mary velayat team, weight category under 100 kg, new national record in bench press.

Other golden medalists of the tournament were S.Gazarov (under 56 kg) (Lebap velayat), Yu.Kurbanov (under 60 kg), M.Agaev (under 75 kg) and P.Ivanov (under 125 kg) (Mary velayat), A.Korneyev (under 82,5 kg) (Ahal velayat).

In women competitions new national records in dead lift were established by Dzheren Tuylieva, Master of Sports, 4 times golden medalist of Asian Championship 2009 in weight category under 60 kg, and Sakhragul Movlyamova, International Master of Sports, bronze medalist of Asian Championship 2009 in weight category under 48 kg.

In other weight categories the winners were I.Taganova (under 52 kg) (Lebap velayat), L.Berdieva (under 56 kg) (Mary velayat), M.Dzhumaniyazova (under 67,5 kg) (Ahal velayat), M.Sultanova (under 75 kg), F.Bekdurdieva (under 82,5 kg) and I.Makarova (under 90 kg) (Lebap velayat).

So the first place in women's team event was given to Lebap velayat, the second and the third places were won by teams of Mary and Ahal velayat.
