Turkmen kickboxers became silver medalists at a tournament in St.Petersburg25.12.2009 18:16WORLD NEWS, 25 December - IP "TURKMENinform". On December 9-12 Leningradsky Youth Palace of St.Petersburg, Russia hosted the XII Open International kickboxing tournament - "Peter's Cup". Full contact fight in three rounds of two minutes were conducted among more than 350 sportsmen from Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Ukraine.
Turkmen kickboxers Khudaykuli Komekov (weight category under 51 kg) and Alibek Baltaev (under 71 kg) became silver medalists of the tournament.
"Peter's Cup" is a traditional championship held each year in St.Petersburg in the framework of all-Russian program "Kickboxing against drugs and juvenile delinquency" in memory of soldiers and Federal Security service workers who died being on duty. The organizers are Kickboxing Federation of Russia, Committee on Youth Policy and Cooperation with Public Organizations, St.Petersburg Committee on Physical Culture and Sports. The fights are conducted between adults (older than 1990 year of birth), juniors (1991-1992 years of birth) and elder juniors (1993-1994 years of birth).
