BALKAN VELAYAT, 26 December - IP "TURKMENinform". Russian company "Itera-Invest-stroi", a subsidiary of the ITERA International Group of companies started construction of a new hippodrome for 3 thousand spectators in Balkanabat city in Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan. Now builders are laying the foundation for new hippodrome. The works are conducted due to the contract negotiated between ITERA and the State Association "Turkmenatlary" for construction of two modern hippodromes in Turkmenistan (in Balkan and Lebap velayats) approved by the Decree of the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov. Each hippodrome will include equestrian schools and shall be equipped with all the supporting areas: hotel, cafeteria, restaurant, tennis-court, swimming-pool and parking area.

As is known, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov signed the decrees on the construction of hippodromes in each administrative center of the country's velayats (provinces) on October 28, 2008. The state allocated over $300 million for the construction. Turkish companies will build hippodromes in Ahal and Mary velayats, a Lebanese company will construct a hippodrome in Dashoguz velayat. New hippodromes shall be put into operation in October 2010.
