A big flock of eagles stays for the winter in Turkmenbashi26.12.2009 23:54BALKAN VELAYAT, 26 December - IP "TURKMENinform". There is a 188 meters-high mountain in the center of Turkmenbashi which is a good place for excursions and sightseeing for its citizens who usually visit it on weekends to observe a panorama of the city although it has many 20-30 meters high cliffs and rises dangerous to climb. But dangers seem insignificant in comparison with a magnificent view that opens fron the top of the mountain.

From there you can view very far around observing the Caspian sea, its bays and gulfs, seacost and far-away settlements, the Avaza National tourist zone under construction which stretched for 17 kilometers, and so on. But this winter the citizens can also count about 15 big birds soaring in the sky over the sea and the city - a big flock of eagles chose the Turkmenbashi mountain to stay for the winter. I think, the main reson for this is that this year the bird hunting in the gulf is strictrly prohibited by the government and nobody frightens them, and the eagles can freely make amazing flights over the city.
