The trees planting campaign at the Avaza National tourist zone aimed at creation of a large "green pulmones" zone of the future national health resort of Turkmenistan on the Caspian seacoast came to an end. For three months, from October to december, people of Turkmenbashi city, workers of state organizations and ministries had been planting over 145 thousands of trees making a 300 meters wide and 12.5 kilometres long zone of cypresses, thuyas, pines, mulberries and poplars delivered from domestic forestries from all velayats of the country. The total square of plantation makes up 634.1 hectares. The startup for the trees planting campaign was given by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov on October 9 and timed to the ceremony of opening a new chain of five-star hotels - "Kerven", "Kuwwat" and "Nebitchi" - in the Avaza.
The new green zone was divided into sectors alloted to workers of state organizations and citizens who digged holes and planted trees, regularly watered and maintained them. So, for today almost each citizen of Turkmenbashi has his or her own tree on the Caspian seashore.
