New gas-main pipeline to annually supply 14 billion cubic meters of gas to Iran08.01.2010 19:54MARY VELAYAT, 8 January - IP "TURKMENinform". The Dovletabad - Serakhs - Hangeran gas pipeline became the second gas artery from Turkmenistan to Iran after gas main Korpeje - Kurt Kui on the west of Turkmenistan. The new major gas route will allow Turkmenistan to increase supplies to the neighbouring country from 8 to 14 billion cubic meters of gas per year, and later to 20 billions. The inter-state gas pipeline construction started on July, 2009 after the high-level negotiations between Turkmenistan and Iran were completed and the price and volumes of gas supplies were agreed.
After the talks President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov charged the heads of oil-and-gas industry to start realization of the interstatal agreements. Turkmen specialists of "Maryneftegazstroi" of the State Concern "Turkmengas" performed laying of pipeline and provided all the facilities. The length of new gas-transport system is 30,5 kilometers. The project capacities make up 12 billion cubic meters of blue fuel. The Dovletabad - Serakhs - Hangeran gas pipeline is connected with the Dovletabad - Deryalyk pipeline which supplies gas to Russia.
